BRIEF
Bollywood, one of the biggest film industries in the world is based in Mumbai. The on-screen actors, the glamorous movies, and the craze of the b-town buzz are what comes to one’s mind speaking of Bollywood. This film city tower manifested as a tall tower of pixels, the pixels on which the life of Bollywood is dependent. Each pixel is a box that has the ability to emit its own light according to the function inside. This allows a person from the street to judge what is going on inside the different pixels and the overall pattern creates a unique spectrum that is never the same. The pixels can be artificially lit or act as screens combining to form a bigger screen animating the facade with colors to allow constant metamorphosis. The central core binds the entire tower together. In the periphery are the steel rails which hold the pixels within them.
The pixels area cubes of 15m x15m x5m are interlocked in the rails and the core. These pixels can move up-down-back-forth facilitating a flexible space. Thus like the changing facade, the space is also malleable according to one's needs. Two blocks adjacent to each other form a long studio, further lengthened by a 3rd one and so on. Ad a box on the top and you get a double-height space, ad another a triple-height space! The permutations and combinations are wide. The entire structure moves like a jigsaw puzzle and never looks the same. The constantly moving facade, the changing colors make it a truly glamorous ‘mumbaiyya imarat’ or a colorful building. Bollywood never fails to entertain anyone so the film city tower, the home to Bollywood entertains the entire city. Standing tall at 500m from sea level, each floor has an average of 50%carpet area of the building footprint. Which changes with the user requirement. The rigid function spaces; like the recording and editing studios are placed at lower levels and the shooting spots on the top.

The building is in a constant state of transformation, by the way of the moving blocks and the channel grid, that allow different configurations at all times. This flexibility allows for a change in pattern, colors, and design on all four facades of the building
